The majority of this project is focused on comparing the texts of Hobbes, Locke, Rousseau, and Kant to political documents ranging from the early modern period to now. In terms of methodology, both the texts and themes were compared. Some texts, often earlier ones, have nearly the same language as the political theorists the work is derived from. The language of later documents may not be a one-to-one comparison, but the themes of the philosophical texts still appear prominently.
