THE SCRANTON TIMES, TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 1942.
In the days before the addition to Elm Park Church was built on the Linden Street side of the property the parsonage was located there, as shown in the photograph above. The house was dismantled and transferred to the church grounds in the 200 block of Jefferson Avenue when the addition, which houses the various church rooms and departments, was constructed. The Scranton estate property, which since has been turned over to the University of Scranton, is shown in the background of the picture, which is one of a number furnished The Times by Lester M. Davis, local architect and now superintendent of building inspection at City Hall.
