Ready This Fall
Fourteen years ago the University of Scranton Student Center building opened for business with an orientation program for freshmen. The new building, which had a dramatic impact on campus student life, offered a 325 seat cafeteria, auditorium, snack bar, game room, bookstore and meeting rooms. Recognizing that the growing student body was crowding the Student Center's facilities. University officials have authorized a major renovation of the structure. A third floor patio area is being converted into a grill room and 300 seat dining area for the students. Expected to be ready this fall, the new facility will take a great deal of pressure off the second floor dining room. A bonus in the $228,000 project is expected to be a spectacular view of the city and West Mountain from the new campus facility.
Construction worker uses "steel sidewalk" to move across the face of University of Scranton's Student Center building.
