Conclusions

From the 1970s-2010s, the students and faculty of the University of Scranton have had a largely positive view of affirmative action. This is seen by the generally positive coverage of the issue in The Aquinas both before and after several important Supreme Court cases concerning affirmative action. Such consistent positive coverage over the span of almost half a century shows that our original hypothesis was correct. Given these consistently positive views of the practice, we can anticipate that affirmative action will continue to be viewed favorably by the University of Scranton students and faculty as long as the legal struggle for it exists.
