Staffs Concern for Minorities

Lee. J Williams was an Assistant Provost at the University and he was asked but several students of color to be the moderator for the African American Society an up and coming club.  This furthermore emphasizes the lack of staff members of color and how this lack affects the current students. In this letter to Father Panuska written by Williams, he expresses his immediate plan that as soon as a staff member of color is hired his position as moderator will cease to exist and he will be replaced. This brings attention to how important it was to some  staff member at that time that black students have a person that they can relate to.

The African Amercain Society held their meetings at the International House. This house was created as a living-learning community where a variety of students could live together and get to go through the ups or downs of college. The  17 students that resided in this house contained of mostly students from the US, two taiwanese students, two indians, one french, and one italian.
