We are four history majors who decided to conduct research about women being integrated into the staff and faculty at the university because of our shared interest in the plight of women for equal opportunity for employment as part of affirmative action. Most of our interest stemmed from learning the history about the university with regards to the inclusion of women being that the University of Scranton was at one point a men’s university. It is our sincerest wish that our research will inspire others to further delve into the history of women at the university and the progress that has occurred as a result.
