Racial Equality
After the Second World War and the world becoming significantly more global, there came a global push for minorities to receive the same rights as their counterparts. This could be seen in the American Civil Rights Movement and, much later, the South African stand against Apartheid. This global appetite for racial equality is reflected in the United Nations’ Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination. Again, this is not to ignore the presence of racism in various countries and on the international stage—something organizations like Black Lives Matter seek to dismantle—but to demonstrate some progress that has happened in the last few centuries.
